To store its digital assets published online as part of the "Virtual Observatory" project

The Paris Observatory has chosen Active Circle to store its digital assets published online as part of the "Virtual Observatory" project. The data, which will be available to the scientific community online, consists of several image datasets of the Southern Sky. The data volumes, currently under a dozen terabytes in size, are rising sharply due to the increase in image resolution and the number of images yet to be published.
