IGN chooses Active Circle to archive GIS data
April 2nd, 2008 - IGN, the French National Geographic Institute, has chosen Active Circle to set up its geographical information archiving system. This archiving project relates to all the geographic datasets that IGN produces and is required to keep due to their importance in terms of information and heritage. This, in particular, concerns the historical aerial photograph datasets of which it is the custodian. The everincreasing volume of data will ultimately amount to several hundred terabytes.

The Paris Observatory chooses Active Circle
Feb 8th, 2008 - The Paris Observatory has chosen Active Circle to store its digital assets published online as part of the "Virtual Observatory" project. The data, which will be available to the scientific community online, consists of several image datasets of the Southern Sky. The data volumes, currently under a dozen terabytes in size, are rising sharply due to the increase in image resolution and the number of images yet to be published.
